Ur Food
•    A mesh bag and binder clip for hanging your dishes to dry.
•    Ur dishes, glasses and utensils
•    Some alcohol and mixers for the bar
•    Whatever spices, etc you want to add to the general pantry (please
email kiana.vagabondia@gmail.com to see what we are bringing)
•    If you want to bring any special items like a crepe pan, etc..bring it!
•    Dish towels to dry ur dishes (and some more bindy clips to hang them
so they dry)
•    Big hefty garbage bags for ur trash!
•    At least 2 gallons of water per day!

Sleepin'

•    Ur Tent, shade structure for your tent if you have it (you will
appreciate this)
•    Ur beddin' and air mattress
•    Some lights for your tent – think LED and twinkle!
•    Rebar (recommended 2 feet long and candy canned ) I don't remember
the diameter but it is painted light yellow on the ends at home depot.
•    Rope to attach ur tent to some rebar.
•    Luxuries: a fan, a tent heater (cool camping device)
•    Tarps for under your tent & over your tent! Silver is best. www.gotestuff.com
•    Bungee Clips, tarp clips, and whatever you need for ur rig.
•    14 gauge extension cord 100ft for your tent if you want electricity

Livin'
•    Desert Goggles & Sunglasses
•    A dust mask, scarf, or something to quickly cover your nose and
mouth with if you get caught in a dust storm. News is the playa is
dusty this year and it's a good year to have the good dust masks.
•    A camelpack or canteen for water and ur stuff.
•    A spray bottle for citric acid/vinegar mix to protect ur skin. I got
mine for 50cents at Target (pronounced Tar-zjhey)
•    Paper Towels, toilet paper, baby wipes, & hand sanitizer
•    Lotion, lip balm, and sunscreen. Bring more then you think you'll need.
•    Ur personal sanitary items.
•    Vitamins and other good things to keep you healthy!
•    Ziploc bags for everything: ur clothes, your shoes, etc.
•    Rubbermaid bins to keep ur stuff protected.
•    Lots of socks! Good boots/shoes!
•    Visine, Nasal Spray., & Baby Wipes
•    Flashlights & Headlamp. You can do without a headlamp but if you
have the moolah- well worth it.
•    Earplugs & a personal first aid kit (I keep one in my camelpack)
•    Gum, altoids, carabiners, travel drink mugs, and other fun treats to
keep in ur pak
•    Towel or two for the shower
•    We will have one sun shower but if you are wanting guaranteed hot
water when you want it…bring your own sun shower. We have a structure
for hoisting it up.
•    1-2 10 gallon containers for your gray water. We have a filter
system to make it a little less ick but it still has to be packed out.

•    If you have long hair or even if you don't, some extra good leave-on
moisturizer.

Hotel at the edge of the playa

So I am in the mist of my preparations for Burning man, something I have been putting on and off for 7 years. It being Sal’s request for a substitute for a Bachelor party, there can be no more excuses. I have to go after last nights dream however, I wonder how close my dream is to reality ( other then the hotel bit ) To Much man to much to much ( K those who know me know where that’s from ).

We arrived at burning man. I was settling in I set up my cot and my stuff in a Car Tent. Off in the back corner and I knew we where two rows in on the edge of the playa, it was literally a tent city, hundreds and hundreds of very dense tents for miles it seems. People on and off bikes going past in this light but never ending stream of people

I was walking toward this building, watching the scored cracked gray earth below my feet trying to keep my head down from the dust. On the edge of a playa was this hotel a red brick building.

In side It was mostly dark but defiantly a 10 foot hard ceiling over head as I follow the sound of the music. There where 3 huge dance rooms / conference halls. The smell of the dry dusty air but it was cooler like AC. ( I grew up in central Utah so I’m a desert rat ) There was a room where a massive Party was going on lots of people dancing and carrying on too dance music, the low glow from thousands of glow sticks fill the room with a pale light, I stop to look and watch but I was weary.

Walking between the halls was doors and doors of hotel rooms, and we came into this open space where there was this large carpeted pit me and my friend sat down and joined this cuddle party. I lay down and this really beautiful burnet rolls on top me of in a suggestively plea’s me meet her at this poly party. Of course I agree but it’s not till that evening and I will meet her there. (leaving stuff out b/c this is PG rated Journal Post) After a little me and Rayn it we it up and go out the doors and then again look out across Black Rocky City its mid afternoon.

We head into this tent the dust thick all around us as a small wind gust blows across the city, on the way I come up with crazy Idea of having an free arcade at burning man and we sit down to talk to the Burning Man Organizers to talk about it. We eventfully shoot it down the arcade b/c of the dust and how it would eat the electronics and electricity needed to run such an event.

Night falls and we are wondering and heading towards the party, I can hear nothing but the constant dance beat and neon lights everywhere. We arrive at this massive tent probably the size of a football field. go through the tent door and people are dancing in the center with tones of pillows and carpets around everywhere something right out of Prince of Arabia. People in the corners and on pillows thru out t the room are making out. There are belly dancers in the center of the room. I see the female friend across the room she turns and Looks and me and this big grin comes on her face.

I wake up!!!

Note I’ve never been to burning man before but this just makes me more excited to go.
I rarely have a dream like that its once in a blue moon.

After a three year break from one of my favorite pastimes, Im back no I'm not talking about evercrack or WOW.
I'm talking about writing and producing music. I have a couple people I know that want to work with me on my music. one is a band another is a coworker who is a producer and composer as well.

I'm going to start attending a local song writing group as well as thinking of going back to school after a music degree but still thinking about.
Many asked me why am I come out of my shell, its simple I'm inspired the last couple months have really made me focus on who and what I am and returning to my roots and the loves in my life ( other then women ) .

Music has been about the only constant thing in my life that I have loved but for some reason in the last 2-3 years I quit doing it.

Doc Wong Riding Clinic

Got up at 6 am shaved showered and geared up. I was out the house by 7:00am. For a nice Sunday morning ride to redwood city to Doc Wongs Riding clinics.

Doc Wong has been teaching riding skills and sport bike racing for over 15 years. Anybody that goes to one of his clinics feels the difference in their riding after the first couple of session. This month it was about Body English / Body positions and how to better staying on the bike under rough and tight leaning conditions.

There was about 50 of us and we broke into groups of about 10-12 depending on skill level. So we headed down CA 84 and down some creek road I can't remember. I was crazy bumpy the goal was to teach you how to hold on to the bike with your body not your arms. Doc said if your butt hurts half way down your not holding on right. After the bumpy ride for prob about 15 miles, it smoothed out into very windy and hair pin turns, Where we worked on leaning technique and tight turns at speed.

I swear some of the hair pin turns my knee was only 2 inches from the ground. But it was so much Fun!!!!!. We stopped probably 6 times in 6 hours and stopped and talked about what we where learning. The group lead and the sweep (person making sure everyone got to the next point) coached us on our riding and helped answer any questions we had.

We ended up headed south on PCH 1 and I can say seriously one of the most memorable experiences is coming over the hill on PCH 1. Seeing the ocean cliffs and ocean on a bike with 10 other riders behind you, ocean breeze, clear blue skies, at a little bit faster then highway speeds ;). It was like heaven.

We stopped and totally swamped this grill and dinner we at lunch and relaxed for a hour. So many pretty bikes. Eat Lunch talked shop and watched the waves come in. After an hour we all jumped back on our bikes and headed towards Jamison Creek.

Which is about 20% incline and tight turns (they tell us to put our bikes in neutral and just work on our leaning and breaking).

Then we all meet at a cross road between hw9 and 37 and pulled into this parking lot. We all as a group talked about the ride and what we learned and we where sent on our way. Total Ride was about 182 miles and with lunch 5 1/2 hours. I am so going next month, who's with me?

The start of a Great Adventure

Day one
Got up early in the morning to workout and head to work, so we could leave around 2pm in the afteroon to head down south to anahieme. To start our 3 day Disneyland Adventure. So at 1pm I left work after a short 5 hour day, and headed home to pickup amy and q. We left around 2 and got stuck on ca152 for about 2 hours leaving because of a bad intersection and about 500 cars on a single lane high way outside of gilroy. After the traffic shananagians, we took a quick stop and got some supplies and headed down the road, stoping only one more time to refuel body and vechical. Got here around 9:30 at night checked in and had a quick bit to eat at a, good but slow service ( because they where closing) itailan restraunt named mari's. Came back to the hotel and crashed for the night. It took us about 7 1/2 hours and q watched movies most of the time down here on his portal dvd player.

Life is short and sweet and its true only the good die young, and today UCSC alumni and friends are morning a lose of a cherished soul. Squirrel died today after falling off a cliff. Cause of death was severe brain trauma. He was at a party, wondered off fell in a raviene, and was not found for 5 hours latter. I know him only in passing and the duties and big role he played in some great experience and memories in my life with UCSC Ski and Snowboard club. I Truly morn his death because he gave so much for everyone involved with the ski and snowboard club.

acydrayn1369: How do you think I've come to the resolutions about open relationships, lack of government etc. I hate liberals and all their laws to make things equal and I hate republicans for the exact reverse. I don't believe everyone should be taken care of aside from basic needs like shelter, clothing and food. An anarchistic government isin't one without law, it deals with everything case by case.
